Dr. Eileen McCarthy was born in Vero Beach, Florida, raised in Concord, New Hampshire, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 2006. She has been passionate about animals, science, and medicine since childhood, leading her to pursue and graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Grand Canyon University in 2020. From there, she attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Arizona and graduated as a DVM in 2024.
While practicing as an associate veterinarian at a small animal general practice in Scottsdale, owners often asked for in-home euthanasia services when quality of life was discussed. Oftentimes, this was not possible due to her busy schedule, but when she was able to perform this service for owners and their pets, she saw a noticeable difference in the level of comfort for everyone involved, especially the beloved pet.
Performing euthanasia services at home allows for a significant reduction in anxiety that a veterinary visit may invoke, as well as a more peaceful and comfortable way to say goodbye to a dignified member of your family for everyone.
Dr. McCarthy’s goal is to ensure a gentle farewell for your pet and to help clients navigate through the difficult time of saying goodbye. It is never easy to lose your best friend. Being able to end any pain or suffering your pet may be feeling in a humane way in the comfort of your home is a selfless gift of respect and love to your pet that Dr. McCarthy would like to help support you through.
